About

38

I am a mother of two amazing children that I birthed… and after nine years of flying solo, my children and I have welcomed with open arms my new husband and his two kids into our nest.  Those who know me are well aware that I wear many hats… and now I wear the hat of step mom too.  Combining two families is very challenging and must be handled with kid gloves.  I hope that by sharing our new experiences I can help others who are going through similar situations.  The relationships that are formed in the early stages of a blended family and the power struggles that are faced by everyone involved (husband & wife, children, ex-spouses, their spouses…) can shape the relationships we all have with the children forever.

I want my kids and step kids to know that although it was difficult, we handled ourselves with grace, forgiveness, and love.  And even though it was hard, we embraced our “new normal.”
